The Griffiss Solo II Series
Solo II drivers are invited to compete for season class championships in a series of weekend events held at Griffiss Technology Park (formerly Griffiss Air Force Base) in Rome, N.Y. This site has been host to many SCCA Divisional and National Tour events. The surface is smooth concrete with grip levels similar to that present at the National Championship site in Topeka, KS. This series is designed to appeal to a wide range of autocrossers, from the inexperienced driver to the driver getting ready to compete at the National Championship. Course designs will be of high quality.
ENTRY FEE:
Entry fee is $20 for SCCA members, $25 for all others.

All SCCA classes will be offered. Other classes offered are factored street tire and ladies classes. Points will awarded based on finishing position with series trophies presented at a post season banquet.
Each set of weekend events will be run as separate events with separate results and entry fees. Griffiss Series supplemental regulations will be in place. Directions to GRIFFISS BUSINESS & TECHNOLOGY PARK, Rome, New York
From the west: NY Thruway (Rt. 90) to Exit 33 (Verona, Casino). Rt. 365 east to Rt. 49 (Rt. 365 exits left, stay on the divided highway) to the Griffiss exit. Follow directions "From Griffiss Park entrance", below.
From the east: NY Thruway (Rt. 90) to Exit 31, Utica. After the toll booth, bear right to "Rome - Genesee Street North". Follow signs to Route 49 and West 790. Go 1/10th mile and turn right at the traffic light onto River Road East. Go less than 1/10th mile and turn right onto the ramp for West 790, Route 49 and Rome. You are now on W790, parallel to I90. Get into the middle or left lane. Follow signs for "W, 49 Rome". Approximately 2 1/2 miles from the toll booth, turn left at the traffic light onto Route 49. After approximately 10 miles on Route 49, take exit for "Griffiss Park". This is a two lane exit so bear left on the exit ramp. Follow directions "From Griffiss Park entrance", below.
From Griffiss Park entrance: Enter the site past the signs. Proceed on Wright Road and bear left on Hill Rd. at the Child Development Center. Caution: At bottom of hill large bump at railroad crossing.) After approximately 2 miles from the beginning of the Griffiss Park exit ramp, Hill Road will curve left and become Mohawk Road. Proceed another 0.4 mile to the BIG PLANE. Turn right onto "Perimeter Road". Go 2/10th mile, turn right through the gate.
